Ruth Langsford has horrified husband Eamonn Holmes - and the nation - after revealing a slightly bizarre anecdote while watching Sex in Lockdown: Keep S****ing and Carry On during an episode of Celebrity Gogglebox.

The two This Morning presenters appeared on the celebrity spin-off of the show last night (19 June), and were watching a programme about people spicing up their sex lives during lockdown.

Host Anna Richardson shared a list of top household items used in the bedroom, including a feather duster, a hoover and a spatula.

This prompted Ruth, 60, to turn to her partner and tell him a story involving her grandmother's old dryer, much to his horror.

She told him: "My gran had the old style spin dryer that moved round quite quickly, you had to sit on it to keep it still and it was quite fun."

Eamonn, also 60, asked his wife if her grandmother knew she'd been using the machine in such a way.

Ruth replied: "We sat on it together."

Having already looked pretty mortified throughout the exchange, at this point Eamonn's face dropped as he sighed: "Oh God."

Ruth also popped into the kitchen and returned with a lemon squeezer, brandishing it at Eamonn - prompting shocked viewers to dub her a 'dirty devil'.

One person wrote on Twitter: "Just learnt too much about Ruth and Eamonn."

Another tweeted: "I'm p***ing myself laughing at Ruth but I can't look at a washing machine in the same way again #Gogglebox."

A third added: "@EamonnHolmes and Ruth are brilliant... I'll never look at her the same way after her spin washer story."

Someone else said: "Ruth!!! Omg I screamed!!!!"

Elsewhere in the show, Denise Van Outen also amused viewers with a cheeky quip about her boyfriend Eddie Boxshall.

She had reached down to pick up some popcorn, which was in a bowl between his legs, and said: "It makes a change to pick something up from that area that'll fill me up."

Needless to say, many people enjoyed the joke - although one Gogglebox fan took the opportunity to criticise Boxshall for his 'man-spreading' instead.
