Netflix viewers are recommending anyone who's seen Seaspiracy to move onto another shocking documentary that lifts the lid on what we're eating, with 2014's Cowspiracy also available to watch now on the streaming platform.

Since Seaspiracy dropped last month, many of us have vowed never to touch a piece of seafood ever again after learning about the environmental impact of fishing and the corruption within the industry.

An official synopsis for the thought-provoking doc says: "Passionate about ocean life, a filmmaker sets out to document the harm that humans do to marine species - and uncovers alarming global corruption."

Still from Cowspiracy.

Directed by and starring Ali Tabrizi, the film is also produced by Kip Andersen - who just so happens to be the director behind documentary feature Cowspiracy: The Sustainability Secret, which explores the devastating effects that animal agriculture has on the environment.

After seeing the rising interest in such issues in the wake of Seaspiracy's release, some people are calling on others to also watch Anderson's 2014 film, with one tweeting: "Watch SEASPIRACY... Then COWSPIRACY."

Referring to another of Andersen's documentaries, they added: "Then WHAT THE HEALTH."

On its website, Cowspiracy bills itself as 'the film that environmental organisations don't want you to see'.

"Cowspiracy: The Sustainability Secret is a groundbreaking feature-length environmental documentary following intrepid filmmaker Kip Andersen as he uncovers the most destructive industry facing the planet today - and investigates why the world's leading environmental organisations are too afraid to talk about it," the website explains.

"Animal agriculture is the leading cause of deforestation, water consumption and pollution, is responsible for more greenhouse gases than the transportation industry, and is a primary driver of rainforest destruction, species extinction, habitat loss, topsoil erosion, ocean 'dead zones', and virtually every other environmental ill.

"Yet it goes on, almost entirely unchallenged."

As Andersen approaches leaders in the environmental movement, he 'increasingly uncovers what appears to be an intentional refusal to discuss the issue of animal agriculture', with industry whistleblowers and watchdogs warning him of what may happen if he continues to investigate.

Andersen was also behind What the Health, which was released three years later in 2017.

That film largely aimed to outline the benefits of a plant-based diet by exploring the health impact of meat, fish, eggs and dairy products, while also looking into the practises of leading health and pharmaceutical organisations.

Its Netflix description says: "This film examines the link between diet and disease, and the billions of dollars at stake in the healthcare, pharmaceutical and food industries."

You can watch Seaspiracy, Cowspiracy and What the Health now on Netflix.
