After months of waiting, Netflix has finally blessed us with the season season of the incredible and hilariously awkward Sex Education.

It is being released on the streaming service at the same time for people all around the world and Netflix Australia and New Zealand has been kind enough to let everyone know when it will drop for the different time zones.

With a new school term comes a new and (presumably) all too informative 'talk' from a sexual health expert... that just happens to be Otis' mum of course.

The camera turns to Dr Jean Milburn (played by Gillian Anderson) who addressed the audience of giggling teenagers by saying: "I'm here to start an open conversation about S.E.X." Classic.

Fan's have been waiting in anticipation with one tweeting: "Gillian crying for less than two seconds already had me in tears. This season will destroy me."

Another predicted: "Don't think Otis and Maeve will get together on this season sadly, but Ola and him will definitely break up sooner or later which makes me happy! Otis + Maeve."

According to Netflix's viewing tracking, the show was viewed in 40 million households within the first four weeks of it being released. As a result, the show's army of fans have been waiting some time for its return.

The site said: "In season 2, as a late bloomer Otis must master his newly discovered sexual urges in order to progress with his girlfriend Ola whilst also dealing with his now strained relationship with Maeve.

"Meanwhile, Moordale Secondary is in the throes of a Chlamydia outbreak, highlighting the need for better sex education at the school and new kids come to town who will challenge the status quo. Maeve and Aimee's BFF relationship is stronger than ever since Aimee ditched 'the Untouchables'.

"Eric notices his new-found self-confidence attracting unfamiliar kinds of attention. Adam is at military school, still conflicted by his feelings for Eric.

It looks like this is Eric's new love interest.

"Lily has hit pause on her sexual endeavours to focus on her creative talents and finds a newfound friend in Ola. Jackson is forced to flex his mental rather than physical muscle and is still buckling under the pressure from his parents to succeed.

"Jean and Jakob's relationship is discovered and they have to learn how to operate as a blended family. Jean forms an unlikely connection with Mrs Groff and a friendship between the two women begins to form."

Since it came out, Sex Education has won praise from fans and critics alike for tackling some of the big societal issues such as sexuality, relationships, and identity.

Have fun, friends.
