Sharon Osbourne could be looking to revive reality show The Osbournes, with one source claiming 'a deal is closer than ever'.

The show followed the lives of Sharon, husband Ozzy and kids Kelly and Jack - plus about a million dogs. It aired on MTV between 2002 and 2005.

With Sharon recently stepping down from her role on The Talk, after clashing with co-host Sheryl Underwood, a source close to the star has revealed she's currently looking into new ventures and that a revival of the popular show is one of them.

A source told The Sun: "Sharon may have parted ways with CBS, but the interest in her remains sky high.

"Many production companies are keen to have an updated version of their reality show.

"And the way things are going, a revival looks pretty strong. It is closer than ever to returning to our screens.

"The timing is good given that next year will be the 20th anniversary.

"Certainly the family are just as wild as ever, and would be captivating viewing.

"After all this time away, bringing the show would be hugely popular.

"The controversy surrounding Sharon's exit from The Talk will soon die down and a platform like this allows her to say what she wants and viewers will remember exactly why they loved her in the first place.

"Ozzy is heading out on tour next summer so this could be good promotion from him as well.

"And let's not forget Kelly, who is switching lanes to acting. The signs have never been stronger that a return is happening. A deal is closer than ever."

The newspaper goes on to claim that the Osbournes could pull in a whopping $20 million (£14.3m) if they signed a rights and payment deal.

And it seems like Sharon's happy to hold out for the right deal, having said three years ago that networks had approached the family with offers but 'can't afford' them.

She added: "It's like why would we want to do it for f****in' peanuts?"

Meanwhile, husband Ozzy has previously said: "I would do it again.

"When the TV crews left, I missed them being in the house."

LADbible has reached out to a representative for Sharon for comment.
