Steve Harvey Is Caught Up In Another Miss Universe Name Blunder

But this time it wasn't the host's fault

Miss Universe host Steve Harvey has been caught up in another blunder while announcing a winner's name.

Harvey was left red-faced back in 2015 after he incorrectly named Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez as the winner instead of the actual winner Miss Philippines Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach. Awkward.

Even more awkward as Gutierrez had already been given the crown and it had to be removed and passed over to Wurtzbach.

Now to 2019, and the National Costume results which saw 62-year-old Harvey proudly announce: "Here's the look at the winner, Miss Philippines."

But the woman stood beside him, Miss Malaysia Shweta Sekhon, grabbed the mic and said: "It's no Philippines; it's Malaysia."

Poor Harvey thought it was 2015 all over again, as he explained: "OK, well, let me explain something to you. I just read that in the teleprompter.

"Y'all got to quit doing this to me. I can read. They said ... they're trying to fix it now. See, this what they did to me back in 2015. Played me short like that. This is Malaysia. I really love this national costume of Malaysia. This is crazy."

Sekhon carried on and went into detail about her stunning outfit, while Harvey sheepishly said he was 'scared' to say the woman's name again as he didn't 'know what the hell the teleprompter' was doing.

But to add a further twist, it turns out our man Mr Harvey was actually right along and it was actually Miss Malaysia who was confused.

Tweeting after the show the official Miss Universe account cleared the matter up, writing: "@IAmSteveHarvey had it right: Miss Universe Philippines Gazini Ganados is the winner of the #MissUniverse2019 National Costume competition! Congratulations, Gazini."

It seems the f***-up happened, because as Harvey was announcing Gazini as the winner, a huge photograph of her was displayed on a screen.

But, because Sekhon was physically on the stage, stood beside Harvey, she appears to have thought his 'here's a look at the winner' comment was aimed at her. I mean, you can see how the mistake was made, but Harvey must be seriously considering taking this gig next year.
