We've all got regrets, but if you made a career out of getting bitten by animals, drinking your own effluence, and getting beaten up, let alone going through a lengthy period of drug addiction, you'd imagine that Steve-O would have a few more than most.
Mercifully, he is now celebrating 13 years of sobriety, and is past his problems with substances, but in a new YouTube video featuring his Jackass colleague and friend Wee-Man, you might be surprised to learn that the only regrets that they've got are the things that they didn't do.
Discussing their past on Steve-O's Wild Ride, the host started: "People ask me 'what stunt did you regret?' and I have an answer that is the same answer every time, that my honest regret is that I didn't do more.
Wee-Man responded: "That's probably mine too."
He added: "The one I've also answer is, do you remember when [we were in] in Florida, I forget who it was had this little baby alligator and it bit Knox [Johnny Knoxville] on the nipple?
"They came to me first and I was like 'nuh-uh' - I said no - and then Knox gets it and he has this full poster now of this alligator, and I'm like 'f***! I could have been a poster'"
Steve-O continued: "That's the thing dude, that's the regret. The regret is that there were so many times when I didn't step up, or I did but I half-assed it, and if I'd just gone all-out and dug a little deeper and got the f***ing footage, I would have been more stoked."
He added: "That's why I keep going!"
Wee-Man jumped in: "Me too! It's pushed me more now because of those times that I've had regrets now, I think about them when I'm doing other things now."
As for their future, in which there is a fourth Jackass movie on the horizon, they're certainly not going to be experiencing any of those regrets.
Steve-O said: "Without being too particular about what we're up to, I think that I'll say in general that I really believe even though we're way f***ing older, that this thing we're talking about is...last call to f***ing be gnarlier than ever, and the bar is higher, we've gotta push harder and go bigger and be gnarlier."
One can only imagine what they'll be getting up to, given some of the stuff they've done before.
