Locklan 'Locky' Gilbert gave it a shot at Survivor: All Stars this year, but sadly was voted out this week.

But there's no love lost for the 30-year-old, because he's swapping one reality TV show for another: The Bachelor.

Making the announcement on social media with a classic Bachelor shot of him holding a bunch of roses, Locky wrote: "There's no denying I've had some incredible, heart-stopping experiences for both work and fun, but this takes the cake.

"Pack your bags Australia, I am beyond excited to be announced as this year's Bachelor and cannot wait to share this epic romantic adventure with you all."

The adventure guide, who is also an experienced cave diver, base jumper, mountaineer and athlete, says he 'really want(s) to find love'. He's now going to have to choose between more than a dozen women to find that special someone.

As Locky was unveiled as the Bachelor for 2020, he said: "I'm pretty content with my life at the moment. I go on these crazy adventures, but I'd love someone to share the memories with.

"I've got best friends, but I want to find that one best friend that I can spend the rest of my life with. This is an amazing opportunity to hopefully find someone special at the end."

When asked why he hasn't found 'The One' yet, Locky explained that his life has been pretty hectic over the years and it's been tough to find someone compatible.

Speaking to 10daily, Mr Gilbert said: "I haven't met that one person that makes me want to settle down. I do want to settle down, but I don't think I'm going to do that until I find the right person.

"I'm not big on restaurants and expensive things. Maybe go on a hike or a walk down along the beach, set up a really nice picnic, watch the sun go down, and maybe there's an outdoor movie screen where we just sit and cuddle while watching a movie."

Locky first appeared on Survivor Australia on season two and was brought back for the All Stars season as he was a formidable opponent.

The start date for The Bachelor for this year hasn't been announced, but stay tuned for any updates.
