Lightyear will be an origin movie for one of Toy Story's most popular characters who we really don't know all that much about.
Buzz Lightyear will be voiced by Chris Evans who is said to be ready to go to 'infinity and beyond' with the film. That's what we like to hear.
The movie has been described as 'the definitive story of the original Buzz Lightyear' that will deep dive into the story of the 'young test pilot that became the Space Ranger we all know him to be today'.

Whether fans are watching it with their own children or fancy a bit of nostalgia mixed with curiosity, it's quite clear that there's a buzz (geddit?) around the film.
Replying to the trailer, one wrote: "That's what he looks like with his purple Hood off. I've wondered what he looks like under there for 27 years."
Another added: "This looks really good. Love the use of David Bowie Starman's song, perfect for this teaser. Nice to see the human version of Buzz. Looking forward to seeing what this movie has in store."

And a third commented: "Bro... my inner child just jumped for joy." Preach. It.
Someone else wrote: "Okay this looks amazing though? I haven't been this excited about Toy Story stuff since like... 2002."
Another said: "The trailer for #Lightyear looks, in a word - incredible. Every time @Pixar bring out a new film I'm blown away with the developments in the CGI. And with @ChrisEvans at the helm you know it's gonna be good. Can't wait to see it."

According to reports, the film will be released on 17 June 2022 and it will be Captain America star Chris Evans' first time voicing Buzz.
Tim Allen officially hung up the boots for the character after the fourth film in the series.
The new recruit clarified what the movie will be about in a tweet, saying: "Just to be clear, this isn't Buzz Lightyear the toy. This is the origin story of the human Buzz Lightyear that the toy is based on."
Interesting. Very interesting.
