Twitter appeared to hint that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield have been confirmed to be starring in the latest instalment of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Twitter's official... Twitter has been doing this with many different accounts and making jokey bios all day so it might be wise not to take the Spidey news too literally.

The Twitter account, which has 59.2 million followers, posted earlier this afternoon saying: "Writing bios today, who wants one?"

Spider-Man: No Way Home responded asking for a creation and Twitter replied: "#SpiderManNoWayHome starring Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Tobey Maguire, and Andrew Garfield, only in movie theaters this Christmas." They don't half know how to tease us.

They also replied to the game UNO, writing: "Tweets about about how you can't stack a +2 on a +2." Wait. What?

In response to an account called 'Literal Larry', the people behind the Twitter account came up with: "my name is Larry and I take everything literally." Inventive, huh?

They also used the opportunity to mock peoples' spelling mistakes. When an account asked for 'on', Twitter went savage, writing: "I can do a lot of things, but I can't spell one." Ouch.

Back to Spider-Man: No Way Homethough, the stars of the film (the confirmed ones, anyway) have been teasing fans by taunting them with numerous fake film titles.

Tom Holland - aka Spidey himself - shared a snap on Instagram alongside the caption: "So excited to announce the new Spider-Man title. Can't wait for you lot to see what we have been up to. Love from Atlanta."

Along with a still from the movie, he shared an image of the title Spider-Man: Phone Home. Hmmm... wrong film?

Then co-star Jacob Batalon went and shared an entirely different title. In his Insta post, he said: "We're so excited to share the TITLE of our new movie!! Swipe right for the big reveal!! Also enjoy this exclusive still from the movie, just an extra gift from us."

However, when fans did swipe right, it wasn't Spider-Man: Phone Home they were presented with, but Spider-Man: Home-Wrecker."

Even Zendaya got involved in the action when she wrote: "So excited to announce the new Spider-Man title. So proud of this one...FOS is back! (Friends of Spider-Man)" she said, before sharing the title Spider-Man: Home Slice."

LADbible has reached out to Sony Pictures to try and confirm the news.
