Tom Holland has confirmed that his upcoming movie Uncharted has started filming, in a post to Instagram.

The 24-year-old actor shared a picture of his cast chair, which has been labelled 'Nate' after the young treasure hunter - Nathan Drake - that he will be playing in the film.

Alongside the image he wrote: "Day one #uncharted".

Despite now being on its seventh director, the film has found its way to production with Ruben Fleischer - best known for Zombieland and Venom - at the helm.

It's set for a July 2021 release but that could change after everyone was sent home on the first day of shooting because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Speaking to Jimmy Kimmel from his home in London, Holland said: "I was in Berlin making a film called Uncharted with Mark Wahlberg, and we were all ready to go and we went to set for Day One shooting, and then we got shut down and we all got sent home. So whether we shoot [Uncharted] first or if we shoot Spider-Man first, I'm unclear."

It would be a shame not to get the ball rolling as soon as possible, especially seeing as Holland himself has been hitting the gym to keep up with co-star Mark Wahlberg, who will be taking on the role of older sidekick Victor 'Sully' Sullivan.

Holland - who plays Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, posted a topless mirror selfie with the caption: "When working with @markwahlberg you gotta get after it!" Can't say we blame him.

Holland is probably referring to Marky Mark's notoriously intense workout regimes. The daily routine that is undertaken by the Hollywood star began circulating back in 2018 and people haven't stopped thinking about what he puts his body through on a daily basis since.

Two years ago the 49-year-old explained that he would wake up at 2.30am - at which time many of us are only just crawling into bed.

Then by 2.45 he's praying, probably for the strength to keep his eyelids open. His first meal is consumed at 3.15am (and I bet it ain't a kebab) then it's off to the gym until 5.15am, before a shower, half an hour of golf (still only 7.30am) and a snack.

It continues in this frantic fashion throughout a day that also includes cryogenic chamber sessions and numerous meals. No ta.
