Tom Holland Is Hosting A Marvel Pub Quiz On Instagram Tonight

Marvel mega fans, tonight is the night you'll get the chance to test your knowledge in a huge Instagram Live pub quiz hosted by Spidey himself.

The quiz has been organised by The Brothers Trust - which was set up by Spider-Man actor Tom Holland's parents in 2017 - and will take place at 8pm UK time on Tom's Insta.

The 23-year-old explained what it was all about in a chat with Jimmy Kimmel last week.

He said: "The Brothers Trust is a fundraising vehicle that we use to raise money from the general public that we feed towards charities that we feel need the light and the support. But we felt a little bit uncomfortable asking people for money at this difficult time so we as a collective have been doing the donations.

"The reason why we're doing the pub quiz is to just galvanise people and to give people a sense of community and to kind of bring people and to just have a laugh, and have a good time. That's essentially what we're tying to do."

It seems likely the actor will be drinking during the quiz too - as you should, even in virtual pub quizzes - as Ryan Reynolds had a case of gin delivered to his doorstep just as he was about to attempt a period of quarantine sobriety.

He said: "I actually said this weekend that I was going to stop drinking for a week, I was going to have a week off. And then literally Monday morning, Ryan Reynolds sent me a case of gin.

"I was literally like, 'I'm not drinking for the whole week, not drinking at all,' and then the doorbell rang and there was a case of gin from the lovely Ryan."

Holland added: "It says here on the box, it says 'some friendly neighbourhood spider-gin, love Ryan'."

Well, if Joe Russo is to be believed, then Holland deserves a good drink, as he believes the actor has put in an 'Oscar worthy' performance in his upcoming film Cherry.

In a world without Covid-19, we'd be able to assess the Oscar-worthiness of this performance for ourselves in the near future, as the movie is currently in post production. However, the uncertainty caused by the disease and social distancing measures means we don't have a release date just yet.

Judging by the verdict of the younger Russo though, Holland's performance should be worth the wait.

Speaking to ComicBook.com, he said: "I think it's an Oscar worthy performance. I think he is absolutely amazing in it. He gives a gut wrenching performance.

"What he does to himself emotionally and physically is unbelievable. We haven't a seen an actor in a role like this in a while.

"The movie spans a decade, complemented by an epic performance. And one that I certainly hope will be in the Oscar conversation."

I guess we'll just have to wait and see about that, but in the meantime, get revising/bingeing Marvel ahead of the big quiz tonight.
