A documentary about the video game Tony Hawk's Pro Skater is to premiere at a film festival in California on 29 February. Have a look at the trailer for it below:
For anyone of a certain age, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater is the quintessential sports video game. Hell, every single one of those games was pure class.

The film, which is called Pretending I'm a Superman: The Tony Hawk Video Game Story, has taken years to produce, having started in 2016. It will finally see the light of day at the Mammoth Film Festival.
The name of the film - as many of you will have already realised - comes from one of the memorable songs that featured in the game, Goldfinger's 'Superman'.
So far, we've only seen a short trailer for the film, but that is enough to get the pulse of any THPS devotee to quicken.

It's been made by D'Amato Productions, which is run by former Neversoft producer Ralph D'Amato.
He knows a thing or two about the Tony Hawk universe, given that he produced every single one of the games in the series.
D'Amato collaborated on the feature-length documentary with Swedish filmmaker Ludvig Gür. It's not just about the games, either.

It takes a more holistic approach to the whole scene, analysing how the popularity of skating and the X Games created the foundations for the THPS games to flourish.
As well as The Birdman, other skaters from the games will appear in the film such as Chad Muska, Steve Caballero, Eric Koston, and the aforementioned Mullen.
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem as if there will be any other appearances from popular athletes in the video game series.
That means no Kareem Campbell, Geoff Rowley, Rune Glifberg, Elissa Steamer, Bob Burnquist or Bucky Lasek.

Oh well, we can't have everything.
At next Saturday's premiere, the big man - Tony Hawk himself - will be in attendance, as will fellow THPS legend and all-around skateboarding royalty Rodney Mullen.
They'll then take part in a Q&A panel session, seated beside the creators of the film.

Then, a band called The Downhill Jam, who pride themselves on being 'America's finest Tony Hawk cover band' will rattle through all of your favourite pop-punk gems from the video games.
Sounds like a decent night out, all things considered.
The premiere is now sold out, but if you happen to be in California there is a second screening - without any cast members, sadly - you can buy tickets for here.
