Fans are 'losing it' after tuning in to watch My Mum Tracy Beaker and spotting the body double for Justine Littlewood, saying it looks nothing like actor Montanna Thompson.

Justine was reunited with her arch nemesis Tracy (Dani Harmer) in the new CBBC series, which focuses on the latter's life as an adult with an 11-year-old daughter of her own, Jess (Emma Davies).

But viewers were cracking up as they watched the drama unfold in one scene - having clocked a not-too-subtle body double in Justine's bright red suit.

Tweeting screenshots from the scene, an eagle-eyed fan called @Anuli2301 wrote: "I'm dead they couldn't bother getting a stunt double that looked like her hahahaaha."

One commented: "That just looks like someone's mum I'm losing it."

Another person joked: "how tf did they find the audacity to hire Millie Bobby Brown to play the legend that is Justine Littlewood."

Many others simply said they 'didn't even notice', despite how inconspicuous the double now seems.

One person wrote: "@CIA hire this girl please none of us noticed."

Another added: "How did none of us notice this?"

The new series is the latest in the Tracy Beaker franchise, based on the books by Jacqueline Wilson.

Dani Harmer reprised her role as the titular character, joined by returning cast members from the original series - including fan favourite Montana Thompson, whose comeback has been seen as nothing short of 'iconic'.

One fan tweeted: "Did I binge the whole thing? Yes, Did I love it? Yes, Do I demand another reboot?? HELL YES!! Not only because Justine @TannaOfficial is iconic and needs more screen time but because we need to see more of her missing backstory! Cmon CBBC do it for the 90s kids."

Another agreed: "With no Justine there is no Tracy Beaker let's be fair/ Shes such a important part of it."

Told from the perspective of Jess, the new instalment follows the mum-and-daughter duo as they struggly to cope financially, with Tracy finding love in the form of a rich ex-footballer boyfriend Sean Godfrey (Jordan Duvigneau).

Emma Davies, who plays Jess, said she was a huge fan of the CBBC series The Story of Tracy Beaker - adapted from the Jacqueline Wilson novels - and that she can't wait for it to hit our screens.

She said: "I'm really enjoying playing Jess Beaker, she's such a fun character to play. It was so awesome to start work on the show as me and my brother have watched Tracy Beaker for as long as I can remember, we are huge fans!

"Filming so far has been fantastic, everyone is really nice and friendly and I'm having the best time."

My Mum Tracy Beaker is available on the BBC iPlayer.
