If you're looking for your next Netflix binge-watch (because let's face it, there's not much else to do) then you might want to check out Unorthodox which is picking up rave reviews from viewers.
The drama mini-series, which is based on the bestselling memoir Unorthodox: The Scandalous Rejection of My Hasidic Roots, centres on Etsy Shapiro (played by Shira Haas) who grows up in the ultra-conservative Satmar Hasidic community in Brooklyn.

While still a teen, Etsy marries Yanky (played by Amit Rahav) - with the pair meeting only once before getting wed. As Etsy struggles to come to terms with her life and upbringing, she decides to move to Berlin to start a new life.
According to an official synopsis from Netflix, the series is: "One part coming of age story, and one part thriller, set in the fun world of Berlin, we watch as a girl discovers all parts of life, of herself and as she follows the dark trails to uncover the dangerous mysteries of her family's past."
The series is a big hit with viewers, with one person taking to Twitter to say: "Obsessed with Unorthodox. Easily the best thing on Netflix right now and I should know because I've almost completed it."

Another wrote: "Unorthodox on Netflix is such a well written series. It was amazing, just wow."
While a third posted: "I usually don't do this but last night, I binge watched Unorthodox and I'm so glad I did - probably the best series I've seen all year - very emotional, powerful and inspiring."
If any fans were hoping for a second season, though, you can expect to be disappointed - writer Anna Winger has poured cold water on the idea, but has hinted at working with the cast again in the future.
She told Metro: "We're not doing a sequel to this because we feel that we really told this story. It was always designed as a mini-series.

"I suspect that I will work with these actors again, and with many of my collaborators from this project. We have a lot of new things in development.
"So it's not the end of the road for this constellation, but I don't think we'll tell this story again. We've told it."
Unorthodox is available to stream on Netflix now.
