Viewers tuning in to today's instalment of Loose Women were surprised when Pamela Anderson joined hosts for an interview from her bed, rocking up via video link nonchalantly alongside new husband Dan Hayhurst.

Many people often opt for a carefully-curated backdrop for their video calls, dashing around to hide the laundry drying behind you and chucking all the empty wine bottles into the recycling bin.

But Anderson, 53, wasn't going to let a call kill her vibe, casually conducting her interview from under the covers with Hayhurst, who she married in a secret ceremony last December.

The pair got together after Pamela divorced her husband of 12 days, Jon Peters, in January last year.

Hayhurst held the camera as his new wife snuggled next to him, laughing together as they told the Loose Women presenters about their low-key wedding in Vancouver, Canada.

The couple were asked if they'd opted for a scaled-back affair because they couldn't have their family and friends present due to coronavirus restrictions.

Anderson replied: "I think we prefer to be by ourselves, but would also be nice to have had some family here.

"But it wasn't a problem to be by ourselves. We had a really beautiful quiet ceremony, and our witnesses were the First Nations people."

As viewers at home watched the interview unfold, many admitted they found it 'ridiculous' and 'inappropriate', while others laughed it off as 'peak 2021 energy'.

One person tweeted: "NO STOP WHY IS PAMELA ANDERSON CONDUCTING AN INTERVIEW IN BED WITH HER HUSBAND ON LOOSE WOMEN."

A second said: "This is ridiculous #LooseWomen."

Others argued that the exchange was 'awkward' and 'nauseating', while another added: "Please just stop. This Pamela Anderson interview where she's in bed with her new husband is incredibly inappropriate. #LooseWomen."

But many people totally backed the former Baywatch star's interview technique, with one saying: "Pamela Anderson doing an interview still in bed is iconic, such a mood."

Eventually, presenter Nadia Sawalha brought the chat to an end, saying: "So listen we are not going to take up any more of your time, but it's been lovely spending time with you both in bed."

She noted that it had been one of the most unusual interviews Loose Women has ever seen, while co-panellist Stacey Solomon said she loved every second, and enjoyed seeing how in love Anderson and Hayhurst were.
