Wendy Williams Caught Farting And Burping At The Same Time On Her Show

This isn't the first time the presenter has been accused of letting rip on TV, but it may be the first time a burp has also been involved

The danger of live TV is that if you're caught burping and farting at the same time, it's likely to get made into a GIF, posted on Twitter and watched thousands of times.

Spare a thought, then, for Wendy Williams, who did exactly that on TV.

She was just going about her business, presenting a segment about Kim Kardashian on The Wendy Williams Show when the double accident happened.

In footage of the incident, Wendy first lets out a little burp, which seems to take even her by surprise, before farting while her eyes are still open wide from the initial shock.

If you look closely, you can pinpoint the moment her expression turns from panic to an eye-roll, as if to say to herself: "Not again, Wendy."

Fans were divided. One Twitter user commented: "Well at least she owned it, others would have denied it and blamed someone else."

Hmm, not sure if there's much chance of that when there is video evidence. But it will be interesting to see if she denies it this time round.

Call it a horrible accident, or perhaps instant karma, seeing as she was indulging in a bit of scurrilous goss about Kim and Kanye's divorce. Either way, the poor woman must be mortified.

But wait - you're probably wondering, 'What do you mean 'not again'?'

Well, it's not the first time the 56-year-old broadcaster has been accused of breaking wind on air.

Yes, Wendy had to deny letting one rip in January 2020, in what became known as Fartgate.

Burps aren't the only thing to have emerged from the presenter's mouth to upset viewers, either.

While discussing Joaquin Phoenix back in 2020 - who had recently been nominated for an Oscar for his performance in Joker - she described him as 'oddly attractive' before talking about a mark on his face which she referred to as a 'hairline fracture'.

She said: "When he shaves off his moustache, he's got a hairline fracture. He's got one of those, what do you call that? Cleft lip, cleft palate."

Holding up her top lip with her finger, she added: "I find it to be very attractive."

But while she may find Phoenix to be very attractive, lots of people found her mimicking to be pretty disgusting.

Canadian American football player Adam Bighill - who was born with a cleft lip and whose son, Beau, was born with one too - was among those to condemn Williams, describing her behaviour as 'hideous and offensive'.

Williams apologised afterward, but it was almost 10 days after her comments were aired. She said her show would be donating to cleft palate charities.
