Will Mellor Says Two Pints Reunion Can't Happen As Sheridan Smith Hasn't Spoken To Him In Three Years

While many people might be up for a throwback to the good ol' days with the return of BBC comedy Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, actor Will Mellor has said it's unlikely to happen as fellow star Sheridan Smith is 'just not interested'.

In an episode of The Morning After With Paul Danan podcast, Mellor- who played Gaz in the long-running British sitcom alongside Smith's Janet - discussed the prospect of getting the gang back together.

"Sheridan just won't talk about it," Mellor said.

"She's not spoken to me in about three years now. She won't answer the phone.

"So there's just no point in going down that route. Sheridan just won't talk. I don't know what happened."

He continued: "We spoke probably three, maybe four years ago and since then all of a sudden she wouldn't return any messages or calls.

"I wanted to be there for her, but she's just not interested so I just thought there is no point in going down that road.

"And we can't get a Two Pints reunion together without her, so me and Ralf [Little, his and Smith's former co-star] thought we'd come up with something else."

Mind you, with or without Sheridan Smith, Mellor has previously talked about a Two Pints reunion of sorts, having announced he and Little were working on a new project.

Sharing details in an Instagram video, Mellor explained that he and Little were teaming up for a new show called Two Pints with Will and Ralf, and that filming was already underway.

In the video he said: "I'm just on my way to start shooting a new project with Ralf Little, it's called Two Pints with Will and Ralf.

"It's set in a pub, me and Ralf having a couple of pints, like Gaz and Jonny, talking about all sorts from the old days to any kind of pub banter.

"Putting the world to rights in our own way, playing a few silly games. You're going to be seeing it soon.

"Hopefully, we're going to be having guests on, music, all sorts of stuff but today's the first day.

"So Two Pints with Will and Ralf coming soon, hope you enjoy it."

While it doesn't sound like the rest of the Two Pints cast will have anything to do with the new project, at least we can watch Gaz and Jonny's real-life counterparts putting the world to rights - especially as Mellor has been promising some sort of project for some time now, having teased back in June last year that something was in the pipeline.
