The producers of World War Z have some good news for fans of the flick, as they've said they don't think they're done with zombie apocalypse yet.

Dede Gardener and Jeremy Kleiner, who are producers for Brad Pitt's company Plan B, recently told The Hollywood Reporter that a sequel could be on the cards in the future.

When asked if there would be second movie, Kleiner said: "Someday. We love Max Brooks's book. We love the universe of it. It doesn't feel like the World War Z is done and over with."

Well that sounds great, mate, but can you get a move on?

World War Z was released all the way back in 2013, and starred Pitt as Gerry Lane, a former United Nations worker, who is given the unenviable task of travelling the world to try and find a way to stop a zombie pandemic.

The movie was a hit at the box office, in fact it's the highest grossing zombie movie of all time pulling in more than $500 million worldwide - and it has a respectable 7/10 on IMDB.

Zombie fans have been hankering for a sequel for years now and with Brooks penning a number of books on the subject, it seems as though filmmakers shouldn't be short of ideas.

Now they just need to get Pitt on board and the sequel is good to go, right?

Let's not forget, that Gerry ended the movie with the words: "This isn't the end. Not even close. We lost our entire cities. We still don't know how it started. We bought ourselves some time. But it's given us a chance. Others have found a way to push back. If you can fight, fight. Help each other. Be prepared for anything. Our war has just begun."

Rumours about a sequel have swirled for years, but it looked as though hopes were dashed last year when Playlist reported that Paramount had pulled the plug on a second movie.

According to unnamed sources, Paramount had decided to scrap plans to make the movie, which was set to be directed by David Fincher.

The report stated Paramount had 'dragged its heels' over a release date and a firm filming schedule was never set up, prompting the studio to sack off the whole project.

But now that Gardener and Kleiner are seemingly keen to give it another shot we might be finally getting the sequel we've been waiting for.
