Amid news that season three of Netflix's You is set to drop before the end of 2021, details on what to expect are slowly but surely trickling in.

In the latest, showrunner of the popular psychological thriller Sera Gamble took to social media to announce that filming had wrapped up.

But that's not all - in a Twitter thread posted on Friday 23 April, she offered up a tidbit that will no doubt have fans of the show very excited.

"The episodes are f**king bonkers and the performances are insanely good," she wrote. "That's all I'll say about that till we are ready to talk about the new season."

Her statement is certainly elusive, but enough to fuel the hype train before the next revelation.

We can only imagine what twists and turns they've got in store for us in season three, especially when it comes to our leading star Penn Badgley, who will be returning as serial killer narcissist Joe Goldberg.

Following the news that production for the third round had to be stalled due to the coronavirus, Sera also used the thread to praise the team for how well they handled the pandemic.

Asking whether she can 'brag for a hot second', she said: "We had zero on-set positive COVID tests through a significant and scary surge here in LA. And haven't had one since," she said.

"Because every single member of cast & crew worked very hard to take care of each other during a time that's stressful, in a situation that's tough to control.

"Obviously there is also an element of sheer good luck in this statistic. It's impossible to totally negate risk in a pandemic.

"But this span we managed to have represents SO much effort and care on the part of the production, our COVID team, and our studio."

Despite the setback for the third instalment, Sera hasn't shied away from offering a few hints as to what we can expect from the eagerly-awaited new offering.

Before her latest 'f**king bonkers' statement, she explained that 'there's lots to come' with the new mystery neighbour seen at the end of season two.

Gamble made the reveal last year during a virtual chat with Penn, as they watched and discussed some of the best moments.

Reflecting on a clip in which Joe peeks through his fence at the unknown woman, Penn said: "I want to ask you about what we're going to do here but you can't really tell us."

To which Sera replied: "It's pretty obvious when we were filming this that we were careful not to show too much of her because that role hasn't technically been cast yet. But there's lots to come with that neighbour."

We didn't expect anything less.
