One step closer...

Season 3 of Netflix's You is back in production after things were paused due to the coronavirus, Netflix has confirmed.

On the official Instagram account for the series, a caption read: "We recommend you stay at least 6 feet from Joe Goldberg at all times. YOU S3 is back in production."

A picture was then posted on to the show's Instagram story which said 'And They Lived Happily Ever After', which we assume is a nod towards the ending of season 2.

Filming initially began earlier this year; however 2020 had different plans, as we soon came to realise.

Despite production for the third instalment being put on hold, the show's co-creator Sera Gamble didn't shy away from offering a few hints as to what we can expect from the eagerly-awaited new offering.

She explained that 'there's lots to come' with the new mystery neighbour seen at the end of the second season, for starters.

Gamble made the revelation during a virtual chat with Penn Badgley, who plays lead character and serial killer narcissist Joe Goldberg in the show.

The pair were re-watching and discussing some of the best moments so far, including the final scene of season two - which ended on one helluva cliffhanger.

Reflecting on a clip in which Joe peeks through his fence at the unknown woman, Badgley said: "I want to ask you about what we're going to do here but you can't really tell us."

To which Gamble replied: "It's pretty obvious when we were filming this that we were careful not to show too much of her because that role hasn't technically been cast yet. But there's lots to come with that neighbour." We didn't doubt anything less.

Fans have their own theories as to what will happen, of course - some might think this is just a warm up to get people ready for his next victim, but one fan reckons that the woman is actually his mum.

Taking to Twitter, they wrote: "I'm telling y'all the woman at the end is going to be Joe's mom and not a new girl he's obsessed with.

"I think she disappeared and started a new family and Joe finally decided to track her down for obvious reasons... He's absolutely stalking his mom in S3 #YouSeasonTwo."
