You Season 3 Is Still Expected For Netflix Release This Year

We've been waiting on vital You information ever since that final scene cliff hanger and, although we don't have any specific dates, it is believed that the third season of the Netflix thriller will still be released this year.

Last January, the streaming service confirmed there would be a third season (how could there not have been?!) but production was paused temporarily because of the coronavirus pandemic.

With filming on hold, it was expected that the release date might also be put back, which may be the case but at least we know it'll be some point in 2021.

Production resumed in November after the official Netflix Twitter account, as well as the You account, tweeted a picture of Joe Goldberg (played by Penn Badgley) wearing a mask that reads: "Hello You".

A picture was then posted on to the show's Instagram story which said 'And They Lived Happily Ever After', which we assume is a nod towards the ending of season 2.

Despite the setback for the third instalment, the show's co-creator Sera Gamble didn't shy away from offering a few hints as to what we can expect from the eagerly-awaited new offering.

She explained that 'there's lots to come' with the new mystery neighbour seen at the end of the second season, for starters.

Gamble made the revelation during a virtual chat with Penn Badgley, as they watched and discussed some of the best moments.

Reflecting on a clip in which Joe peeks through his fence at the unknown woman, Badgley said: "I want to ask you about what we're going to do here but you can't really tell us."

To which Gamble replied: "It's pretty obvious when we were filming this that we were careful not to show too much of her because that role hasn't technically been cast yet. But there's lots to come with that neighbour." We didn't doubt anything less.

Fans have their own theories as to what will happen, of course - some might think this is just a warm up to get people ready for his next victim, but one fan reckons that the woman is actually his mum.

Taking to Twitter, they wrote: "I'm telling y'all the woman at the end is going to be Joe's mom and not a new girl he's obsessed with.

"I think she disappeared and started a new family and Joe finally decided to track her down for obvious reasons... He's absolutely stalking his mom in S3 #YouSeasonTwo."
