TV star Ant McPartlin will reportedly leave rehab in about 30 days and head to the I'm A Celebrity jungle six weeks later to join his best mate Declan Donnelly.

The Sunday Mirror reports that Ant will first reunite with his wife Lisa, with the couple having spent two months apart after he checked himself into rehab over alcohol and prescription drug addiction.

He got hooked on the prescription medication for about a year following a knee operation, which left him in a lot of pain.

A source has told the Sun: "He's doing very well considering everything he's been through and is happy at being allowed to leave the centre with one of the staff. He is in good spirits and on the road to recovery.

"It was judged best that he battled through this on his own. It has been very tough for him, but he really wants to get better and promised to do whatever that takes. There is still a way to go, but he is making real progress."

There were doubts over who would host the I'm A Celebrity show, after Dec said he would never do it without his sidekick Ant. There were rumours that Holly Willoughby would take over the reins if the dynamic duo wouldn't, but that was later dismissed as nothing by gossip.

A close friend of the pair told the Mirror: "Dec wouldn't work on screen without Ant on any major show and he has said the last thing he would do is go to Australia without him.

"To say he would consider working with Holly was ridiculous. He is a good friend of hers but he would not do that to Ant.

"Ant and Dec are a team with a huge emotional bond, they are like brothers and and Dec will only be hosting I'm A Celebrity with Ant by his side."

Many were shocked when news broke that Ant had checked himself into rehab. He released a statement shortly after saying: ""I feel like I have let a lot of people down and for that I am truly sorry.

"I want to thank my wife, family and closest friends for helping me through this really difficult time.

"I've spoken out because I think it's important that people ask for help if they're going through a rough time and get the proper treatment to help their recovery.

"The first step is to admit to yourself you need help."

Broadcaster ITV has been incredibly supportive of the 41-year-old, telling him that he can take all the time he needs to get better.

Good to hear that he'll be gracing our screens again in October and he's getting better.
