First ‘Celebrity Gogglebox’ Trailer Shows What We Can Expect From The Stars

Who would have thought a TV show about watching people watch TV would become such a huge success? Not only has Goggleboxlaunched some of the normal, ordinary people into mini-celebrities, but it's attracted actual celebrities to appear on the show.

To be fair, it would be much more interesting watching the likes of Ed Sheeran, Jeremy Corbyn and Liam Gallagher slag off various TV shows while clutching a glass of red wine than anyone else.

The first trailer has been released for the series, and it looks bloody good.

Shape of You singer Ed will be paired with Example and MC Big Narstie for the episode. But they're gathering together for more than just some banter on the couch; as the special episode is designed to raise awareness and funds for charity Stand Up To Cancer.

Liam Gallagher will also have the cameras turned on him as he watches TV with his mum, Peggy, and 16-year-old son, Gene. He's never shy to say what's on his mind on social media, so getting to see him say virtually whatever he wants in real time will be an absolute treat.

In a statement, the former Oasis frontman said he's a big fan of the show: "It's an honour and privilege to be invited on one of my favourite TV shows, the mighty Gogglebox, especially with my fam and for such a great cause as Stand Up To Cancer."

But he follows his brother Noel, who appeared on Gogglebox in a 2014 celebrity episode, sharing the limelight with Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell - which is probably the strangest pairing I've ever heard.

Other participants for this year's celebrity series include another of British music's most outspoken alumni, Ozzy Osbourne, who'll appear with his wife, Sharon. A League Of Their Own stars Freddie Flintoff and Jamie Redknapp will also be taking seats on the sofa to talk about whatever programmes they watch.

Sadly, we have no idea what those may be.

But if those stars don't take your fancy and you're more into politics then Jeremy Corbyn's appearance might get you more excited. He'll be sitting down with Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix star Jessica Hynes.

There have been plenty of celebrities who have let the UK know what they're really like on the couch, including One Direction's Niall Horan, X Factor runner-up Olly Murs, former Spice Girl Geri Horner and Fifty Shades of Grey actor Jamie Dornan.

It'll be on Channel 4 this Friday at 9pm.
