Fans of Peep Show can be happy.

Not everyone finds David Mitchell funny; he's a bit like Marmite. However, the unique way Peep Show was filmed, with the point-of-view camera angles, makes it one of the most iconic British sitcoms in history.

Now, Mitchell and Robert Webb, who shot the classic show to great heights as Mark and Jez, are returning.

Unfortunately, it won't be for Peep Show, but it is for another sitcom of the 'odd couple' style.

The series, which will air on Channel 4, is yet to have a name, but some of the plot was revealed by Simon Blackwell, who also worked on Peep Show.

"Mitchell plays Stephen, who finally inherits the family pub after the death of his father, a landlord and 'local legend'," Simon said. "For Stephen, divorced and whose only achievement so far has been a 'slightly disappointing pub refurb', taking over the pub is his chance to shine.

"But his plans are thwarted by the arrival of the charismatic Andrew (Webb), one of a number of children fostered as a teenager by Stephen's parents. Andrew, who has travelled the world and can do no wrong in the eyes of Stephen's mother and sister, wants his family back.

"Mitchell's character has always resented Andrew and thinks he's a 'glib, dangerous sociopath who's about to steal his family, his business and his life'."

It's always risky to create another series with the same characters. Even if it's good, people will still probably think of them as Mark Corrigan and Jeremy Usborne. Half of the viewers will also expect Super Hans to pop up, shaking in a toilet cubicle, high on crack. It's also going to be tough to top Peep Show's theme song.

That's said, you probably can't be anything less than excited for Mitchell and Webb to return to Channel 4.
