If you were going on X-Factor having already met half of the judging panel, you might be feeling just a tiny bit less nervous. But that small boost of confidence would probably fade away immediately if they don't remember you.
That's the awkward situation that Talia Dean found herself in when she walked onto the small stage, in front of Sharon Osbourne, Simon Cowell, Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh.
She hid her face from the judges for a tiny bit and then dropped her hands, hoping that Sharon and Nicole would be pleasantly surprised that she was there. But they didn't recognise her.
Check it out here.
Talia tells the panel she's a VIP concierge at Heathrow Airport and helped escort Sharon and Nicole onto the plane on different occasions. She said to Nicole: "You don't recognise me, do you? You told me to go for this and I'm here because of you."
The 32-year-old then told Ms Osbourne: "And because I've carried your bags as well and you told me to go for this and I'm here today."
Sharon quickly asks if she was ever mean to Talia, and she assures the 64-year-old that she was nothing but pleasant.
The pair of judges genuinely looked shocked that they can't remember her, but Talia didn't let that affect her audition. She belted out a roaring rendition of Nina Simone's 'I Put a Spell On You', which Simon described as 'amazing'.
He added: "How come with a voice like this, nothing's ever happened. Was it perfect, no, is it ever perfect, no, but I really like you Talia."
Louis says: "Talia it was powerful because it means a lot to you and you just sang your heart out. We were with you all the way. Like Simon said, it wasn't perfect, but you've got talent and you shouldn't be working at the airport. Full stop."
Nicole was equally impressed by the performance, telling Talia: "I liked that a lot. There's a soul in there. You're raw, you've got a great, big voice, and I really like you."
The 32-year-old gets a yes from the judges and gets a ticket through to the next round. After leaving the stage, she looks shocked and tells the camera: "There isn't actually any words that I could say to you right now to tell you how I'm feeling. There really isn't."
Hopefully this audition has made a more lasting impression on Nicole and Sharon than at the airport.Featured Image Credit: ITV/X-Factor
