Phillip Schofield Brands Teachers 'Jobsworths' Over Strict Uniform Rules

Phillip Schofield Brands Teachers 'Jobsworths' Over Strict Uniform Rules

He's firmly divided opinion here

It's that time of year again. Your timeline is flooded with pictures of your mates' kids in school uniform, and newspapers are flooded with pictures of kids pulling sad faces because they've been sent home from school - usually for not wearing the correct uniform / having a suitable haircut / coming back off holiday with a fuck-off henna tattoo on their face (delete as applicable).

It's the same thing every year - another annual staple is a new batch of parents that have been left fuming over the strict dress codes of their offspring's schools. Meanwhile, you can also guarantee there'll always be a bunch of other people who are quick to tell pissed off parents that 'rules are rules'.

Today the issue was debated on This Morning and Phillip Schofield wasn't shy in letting viewers know which side he was on:

Mum Sophie Davies said her son was forced to wear the 'wrong trousers' to school because the ones he needed were sold out. She still went ahead and paid for the trousers, sending her son Jake in with the recipe as 'proof' that the correct clobber was on its way, but that wasn't enough for the school and Jake was turned away at the gate.

Mum Sophie said Jake was hit particularly hard by being sent away, because he had recently been diagnosed with dyslexia so was already nervous about returning to school.

Schoey was completely unimpressed, saying: "This sounds very heavy-handed from a load of jobsworth teachers."

And loads of people rushed to Twitter agree:

Others stuck up for the school:

What do you guys reckon? Heavy-handed or fair?
