Ruth Jones Hints 'Gavin And Stacey' Comeback Could Be Happening

Ruth Jones revealed she spoke to James Corden earlier this week and talked about what their characters Nessa and Smithy would be doing now.

The hit TV show Gavin and Stacey ended in 2010 after a popular three-year run, and ever since we've been left hankering after a reunion. Just think of the all the things that could have happened in this time - did Nessa and Smithy have any more kids together?

What about Gavin and Stacey? More importantly, is Gwen still knocking up those incredible omelettes?

Well, it seems we're not the only ones - as actress Ruth Jones is also interested in a Gavin And Stacey comeback.

Apparently Ruth and her former co-star James Cordon were taking a trip down memory lane recently, reminiscing about their Gavin and Stacey days while also pondering what their characters would be up to now.

She told The Daily Star: "James and I were talking about this [the characters] the other day.

"I think Baby Neil, who is now probably about 11... Nessa is training him down the slots.

"She's training him in the art of the dodgy grabber machine and how to weight the two pences."

James - who has since become a household name in America and hosts The Late Late Show - has also previously said he wouldn't rule out a comeback on the show.

Rob Brydon (aka Uncle Bryn) then once told The Sun he believed there could be room for a one-off special, though added that he was a little torn between wanting to get the gang back together and ending 'on a high'.

He said: "If James and Ruth want to do it then I think we'd all do it. It's them really.

"I think it's a real balance between 'let's leave it on a high, people love it', but there's also a big feeling of 'oh it would be so lovely to get back together and do a special'."

Rob continued: "Just one Christmas special, that would be nice. In the past I've always said I don't want to do anymore because I wanted to leave it on a high, but I must admit, mellowing in my old age, I'm thinking now, it would be lovely because everyone likes each other.

"We've lost Maggie who played Doris, she's gone now."

Actress Margaret John sadly passed away in 2011 after a brief battle with liver cancer.

Rob added: "But everyone else right now is still around so it would be lovely because we all like each other so much and it's a great show.

"I'm very proud of the show. And I love playing Bryn, so who knows. I wouldn't rule it out."

With Nessa, Smithy and Bryn all on board, it's surely only a matter of time before the others follow suit? Fingers crossed.
