Stormzy Takes On The Governess In A Version Of 'The Chase'

Stormzy Takes On The Governess In A Version Of 'The Chase'

Like all of us, he loves the show.

Despite his huge stature, love for Adidas tracksuits, aggressive music and an aptitude for telling people to 'shut up', Stormzy is quite clearly a cuddly teddy bear.

In just about every interview he's ever done he appears to be the nicest guy to exist and loves a laugh with whoever's about.

He's had a fleeting Twitter friendship with Louis Theroux in the past, been pictured with Britpop legend Liam Gallagher and just generally likes getting involved.

Most recently it was host of The Chase Bradley Walsh whom he struck up a bit of a bromance with, providing proof that it's one of those things you never knew you wanted until you got it. They're both very funny guys...

The pair appeared on The Jonathan Ross Show, with both of them talking about their respective music careers, both enjoying great success over the last year or so with number one albums.

As Stormzy pondered over Walsh's album they were asked about linking up for a collaboration, which they were both keen on.

"I think we've got half a chance. I don't care what Stormzy says, we've got seriously more than half a chance," Walsh said. "He is going to rap on my new album and I'll unwrap his. And we call ourselves Stormzy and Clumzy. With a Z.

"I want Stormzy to do something for me next, do something on my album. Because I actually love his stuff. I really do."

He then went on to reveal his favourite tunes by Stormzy, and even gave one of them a sing. All the while Vince Vaughan has absolutely no fucking clue what's going on.

The 57-year-old said he enjoys 'Velvet' because of the speed of the lyrics, as well as 'Blinded By Your Grace', or, as he sings it, 'Blinded By Your Face'.

Undeterred by his mishap with the lyrics he continues to sing it as Stormzy plays air piano, proving there's quite clearly a future there.

The grime artist, real name Michael Ebenazer Kwadjo Omari Owuo, Jr., said that, just like us, he's a big fan of Bradley's show The Chase, which goes without saying really.

And of course, he gets right into it.

"I love The Chase. Genuinely, the other day we were all at my house drinking, the mandem, I was with the mandem [watching The Chase]," he said.

"Me and my missus had a big argument because I was adamant that I would merk The Chase, I would destroy it... Every time I watch it I usually win."

He unexpectedly got his chance to show if he could walk the walk as well as he could talk the talk, as the Governess was called out.

Though admitting to be a bit nervous about taking on the chaser, after a tie breaker round he emerged victorious.

He doesn't win anything, of course, but did cement himself as an all round top bloke.
