Gordon Ramsay And Liam Gallagher Laying Into Each Other Is TV Gold

Gordon Ramsay And Liam Gallagher Laying Into Each Other Is TV Gold

Nowadays everyone is a sucker for a clash of egos, as proven by the monumentally expensive scheduled meeting between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor in a boxing ring on 26 August.

Away from sport though, an ego is apparently something people find entertaining. ITV2's Love Island illustrates this in pretty vivid colours, as for some reason viewers seem to find a group of people who reckon they're God's gift to the world endearing.

Anyway, two men who have pretty much made a living out of their egos are enjoying a decent spell of popularity at the moment. Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay is busy filming what feels like about 15 TV shows, as well as slagging off everybody's food on Twitter, and former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher is back on the scene with his solo career.

This weekend LG takes to the Glastonbury stage where he'll play Oasis classics and new tunes to thousands in a field, building anticipation for the release of his debut album As You Were.

The rock and roll giant made his official comeback last month when he played Manchester's O2 Ritz, before embarking on a small tour and playing the Manchester One Love charity concert.

Ramsay, on the other hand, has got all sorts going on. He hosts MasterChef, MasterChef Junior, a rebooted version of The F Word and his new show Culinary Genius, as well as guest hosting ITV's The Nightly Show.

He also pops up in a plethora of rerun shows like Kitchen Nightmares, Hotel Hell and Hell's Kitchen.

Gallagher and Ramsay have quite a bit in common, when you think about it. They're both cocksure that they're the best at what they do - which they might well be - they both swear a lot, they're both very angry, they both enjoy a bit of Twitter, and they're both very popular.

You probably wouldn't expect them to be in the same room any time soon, mind, but they did cross paths a while ago.

Back in 2008, Liam's then-wife Nicole Appleton was a guest chef on The F Word with her family, as the man himself sat in the restaurant.

The Appletons cooked with Gordon, and after the food was served the Scotsman went out for a chat with the Mancunian rock'n'roller. Watch how it unfolded in the video below...

In the video, Liam starts by making his feelings on Ramsay's sweet potato mash clear. He describes them as 'bobbins', and claims that Nicole's are in fact better back at home.

Somehow, though, they get onto the topic of the singer's haircut - he claims he's going to shave it off because he's too hot. The chef then pipes up, saying that it looks like it's been cut using a bowl over his head. Of course, Liam doesn't take to kindly to this, replying with: "Who cut fucking yours? You look like you've been electrocuted, you fucker; been struck by lightning."

He also quips that if he and Noel were in a kitchen together, he'd end up holding his older brother's head against 'one of them hot things'.

All in all though, it doesn't come across as a clash of egos, as you might expect. It is, dare I say it, almost pleasant.
