A Real Life Los Pollos Hermanos Restaurant Is Opening

'Yeah, bit*h!'

Usually when you become enthralled in a television show you find yourself wanting to be a part of that world. You want whatever the characters are having, regardless of if it's fictional or not.

Back in the day it was the elusive Krabby Patty that ol' Spongebob Squarepants knocked up that we all wanted a bite of. Sadly, as you grow older, the realisation that they don't actually exist is crippling, making you question whether anything is worth it.

In teenage years and adulthood though, the likes of Los Pollos Hermanos in Breaking Bad is the type of fictional place that gets us salivating.

Serving as a front for the biggest methamphetamine operation in the Land of the Free, it served some peng-looking fried chicken that would have rivalled that of Colonel Sanders.

In the beginning, Los Pollos Hermanos was owned by Gustavo Fring and Max Arciniega, whom Fring rescued from the slums of Santiago. Fring then paid for Arciniega to study degrees in biochemistry and chemical engineering at the University of Santiago in Chile. The pair then moved to Mexico to open their first restaurant where Max cooked the chicken, and Gus handled the business.

They began to also use Max's degrees by cooking crystal meth alongside the chicken, handing out free samples to get recognition. Shortly after approaching the Juárez Cartel in order to seek partnership in selling their product, Max was shot in the head by Hector 'Tio' Salamanca, forcing Gus to flee to America and set up both his chicken and drug empire there.

Prior to his death at the hands of his former employee Walter White, Gus had 14 chicken shops.

Thanks to a confirmed reappearance of Gus' character in the third season of Better Call Saul, and subsequently Los Pollos Hermanos, both are about to get a resurgence of popularity.

That bodes well then, because apparently a real version of the chicken institute is opening. Rejoice.

AMC is opening a pop-up Los Pollos at Austin's South by Southwest festival on March 10-19, and Bob Odenkirk, better known as Jimmy McGill or Saul Goodman, will be giving an interview, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Unfortunately, whoever is there to serve the food is going have to deal with scores of people thinking they're really witty by asking for meth, or saying 'Gatorade me bitch'! No doubt it'll become quite tedious.

The best thing to do here is send over the Chicken Connoisseur so we get a real idea for how good the food is.
