Holly Willoughby Is Possibly The Greatest Woman Who Has Ever Lived And You Can't Argue

Holly Willoughby Is Possibly The Greatest Woman Who Has Ever Lived And You Can't Argue

What a LAD.

We all love Holly Willoughby. Admittedly, there are various reasons for why we love her, but it's a common ground most of us fall on.

She's like the nation's best mate's mum. Like your best mate's mum, she makes you feel welcome, and warm inside, but also loves to have a laugh and a drink with you. She knows when to be serious, but is always in a light-hearted mood. And, well, we've all had a bit of a thing for our mate's mum.

For years now Holly has been appearing on ITV as a presenter for This Morning, doing a mighty fine job.

Since 2009 she's been a welcomed presence in the morning, talking about anything ranging from sex toys, to charities, finding a balance of humour and seriousness.

For a long time we became accustomed to her innocent, loving nature, but then you compare that to Celebrity Juice.

Though she continues her genuine loveliness on the show, it's after the watershed. So, the odd swear word, innuendo and blooper comes out after a drink.

Seeing both sides of her is great. Again, it's like your mate's mum. You know that during the day you can sit down and have a brew and biscuits, but come 10pm, at a party, you can have a laugh with her as you do shots.

Aside from this, too, she does a lot for charity. In the past, you've probably seen her on Text Santa, a telethon show which aims to support UK-based charities during the Christmas period.

She presented the first show in 2011 with Geordie duo Ant & Dec, and again in 2012, 2013 and 2015 with Phillip Schofield.

The 36-year-old is also a patron for Together For Short Lives, a charity for children's palliative care. The organisation aims to help children with life-shortening conditions live life to the full in the short time they have. Holly helps us raise the profile of children and the services that support them. She also gets involved in the Children's Hospice Week campaign each year.

"Whenever I visit a children's hospice, I am amazed by the positive, welcoming environment and support they provide," she said about the charity. "It's clear to see that services like these are a lifeline to the families that use them. I'm very proud to be a Patron of Together for Short Lives."

Since 2008, when she became a patron, she has spent time with the children and their families.

Of course, she has a lot of time for her own family, too. In 2007 she married producer of the ITV show Ministry of Mayhem, Dan Baldwin. They have three children together, Harry James Baldwin, Belle Baldwin and Chester William Baldwin.

She's also very close to her sister, Kelly, who also works in television. The pair have written children's books in the form of a series called School for Stars.

They were a close-knit pair when growing up, attending Burgess Hill School for Girls in West Sussex. They made up extravagant stories as they went along, which their books are based on.

"We're best friends," Kelly told the Mirror. "And because we've never chased the same dream, there's a complete lack of competitiveness with each other.

"We spend every Bank Holiday together and Christmas, too. If you spend a day in our company you feel sorry for anybody else coming into our gang."

Prior to dominating the world of TV, Holly had appearances elsewhere.

After graduating from the College of Richard Collyer in Horsham, she was spotted by talent scouts at The Clothes Show Live exhibition, and was subsequently signed by Storm Model Management.

She featured in various teen magazines before getting her break, modelling underwear in Pretty Polly adverts.

In fact, Holly was noticed in an adverted, which resurfaced a few months back, when she was aged 18.

Decked out in a white bra, Holly says to the camera in a monotone and almost robotic voice: "Don't squeeze them. Lift them."

Luckily, she doesn't seem to have any regrets about her short modelling career.

"I appreciate it was down to luck that it happened - modelling is a hard field to break into these days and I'm grateful I never saw the dark side of the industry. It opened a lot of doors for me that I never thought were possible."

She also, drum roll, please, starred in an S Club 7 film. She should have given up then, was anything going to get better?

Holly played a character called Zoe, a lingerie model, in S Club 7: Artistic Differences. Poor Zoe ends up heartbroken when Paul bins her off at the end.

She won the part in the movie after appearing in a CITV series S Club TV, which saw a bunch of teens hosting a spin-off show, inspired by the band.

It's kind of like when you go round to your mate's and his mum gets the photo albums out. It turns out that she was just as much of a legend back in the day as she is now.

Holly's latest venture is hosting the sport-themed game show Play to the Whistle, which sees team captains Bradley Walsh and Frank Lampard go head-to-head while she officiates.

She holds her own, clearly loving a laugh, as well as a decent knowledge of sport. Is there no end to the greatness of this LAD?
