James Blunt Posts 'Intimate' Picture Of Himself With Ed Sheeran

It seemed inevitable that one day they would finally join forces with one another - but perhaps not in this way

James Blunt and Ed Sheeran have a lot of things in common. Two specific things come to mind, though: they're both singer/songwriters and they both sell millions of records in the process.

So it seemed inevitable that one day they would finally join forces with one another. Not many people would have envisaged it going this way though - Blunt has tweeted a picture of him and Sheeran in a 'compromising' position.

The picture shows the older singer and rhyming slang favourite James Blunt wearing a pair of short shorts and a Hooters T-shirt bent forward with a suggestive pout playing across his face.

Behind him stands Sheeran with a self-satisfied smirk on his face (seriously, does he have any other faces?) appearing to be observing James' backside with some interest.

OK, full disclosure - the whole thing is a cynical marketing ploy to advertise the fact that Blunt has added an extra date to his tour. He's playing an extra night in Sydney, Australia.

The post, accompanied by the saucy picture said: "Wondering how best to draw attention to the fact that I've added an extra concert in Sydney on March 14th."

That's one way to do it at least.

The fact that he is on tour around the world is interesting in itself, given that he has become more famous for his Twitter hilarity than his songwriting chops in recent years.

He's never afraid to take the piss out of himself, even his Twitter bio reads: "Cockney rhyming slang for the good stuff; [roof that one song is all you need."

Fair play, mate.

And if he ever fancies a change of career, he could make a great social media assistant for a company that gets a lot of complaints. This picture with Sheeran proves that if nothing else.

In actual fact, Jim and Ed have been good pals for a while. Sheeran helped him to write a couple of songs on his latest album and he claimed last year that he enjoys working with Ed because he puts him out of his comfort zone.

Talking about their song 'Make Me Better', which is about his wife, Blunt told the Telegraph: "'It's a song I'm uncomfortable with for that reason. Ed said, 'Come on, it's your job, you veil a lot of things' - for that reason it was great to work with him.

"He is so open and he dragged me into that space."

That last part there certainly seems to be true if nothing else. OH, COME ON, IT'S AN OPEN GOAL.
