When it comes to getting hench, we all have our own personal role models - but has notorious prisoner Charles Bronson ever been one of yours? Probably not.

That could all be about to change as ol' Charlie boy is putting his name to a range of bodybuilding supplements.

Although the full range has yet to be revealed for Bronson Fitness Ltd, a website and a Facebook page have both been set up for the company (so you know it's legit).

Bosses at the firm wrote on Facebook that the company and its products are '100 per cent backed by Charlie'.

The post is accompanied by what looks to be a self portrait drawn by Bronson (aka Salvador) that depicts him telling a mouse to 'shut up' while he plugs the brand. Obviously.

This sales pitch has also been added to the bottom and it's an absolute doozy: "Did Hercules take steroids? What that Samson geezer? Don't be a mug...you don't need it. Not with Bronson fitness."

Currently advertised as part of the line is a strawberry flavoured 'Bronco Oats & Whey' supplement featuring Bronson's mustachioed mug on the label.

Bronson may be a notorious prisoner but he's also widely known for being a fitness fanatic.

He reportedly does around 2,000 press ups in his cell at HMP Frankland every day and holds the prison world record for the exercise - 172 in 60 seconds.

So who are we kidding? We'll take ten barrels of that Bronco Oats & Whey now, ta.

Writing recently about his fitness regime, Bronson urged fans to avoid steroids and to find inexpensive ways to work out.

Recommending people do 'pull ups off a tree branch' or 'swing bar in a park', he suggested: "My way saves you a grand a year - probably more.

"Remember a £150 pair of trainers don't make you run any faster - try running bare footed on grass or sand - so nice - you feel free.

"Save your well earned dosh - stop being ripped off - get a blender if you want a fruit drink - add with honey."

Alternately, if you're more about flavour than fitness then the official Charles Bronson fan club has got your back.

On Saturday reports emerged detailing a 'Bronco Fruit & Nutter' style chocolate bar with a Willy Wonka style twist: one of the bars is said to contain a golden ticket.

If the ticket is found, the lucky winner will enjoy what is sure to be a glamorous and eventful trip to meet Bronson in person.

We can't imagine HMP Frankland is quite as fun as a chocolate factory but still.
