Trent Alexander-Arnold Perfectly Settles Training Ground Argument With Jesse Lingard

Trent Alexander-Arnold Perfectly Settles Training Ground Argument With Jesse Lingard

A good old crossbar challenge is always the way to solve a dispute...

We all know that the best way to solve an issue in football is to have a 'penny on it', but another equally acceptable solution is a crossbar challenge.

That's exactly what Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jesse Lingard did in England training after an argument. The row came about when Lingard and Ruben Loftus-Cheek accused the 19-year old of cheating in a small-sided game.

"Nah - move out the way, you," Lingard said to the Liverpool right-back. "You, cheating and that." He actually sounds pretty pissed off as well.

And with both Lingard and Loftus-Cheek unhappy as they felt the ball went out, they refused to shake his hand despite Alexander-Arnold encouraging them to be 'graceful'. But they were having none of it.

Then, as England's video shows, Lingard challenged his teammate to hit the crossbar from a quite ridiculous distance and said he'l shake his hand if he does so.

'TAA' came up trumps, catching a sweet strike that cannoned off the woodwork. Lingard's effort was wayward and he had no choice but to extend his hand to his colleague, laughing off the exchange.

And people have loved watching the LADs in action - taking to social media, one person said: "Sooooooo good to see players enjoying themselves."

Another added: "They don't care which rival club they play for. They put it aside when they come together for England. Something the golden generation didn't have."

And a third commented: "Skills love how the team have so much banter and live for each other."

The lads were clearly having a lot of fun under Gareth Southgate, evidenced by Kyle Walker mugging off Dele Alli with a new 'challenge' of his own during a gym session.

The Spurs midfielder got nutmegged, quickly closed his legs and then looked over at the camera. The camera then zoomed in on his hilariously blank expression - the humiliation is there to see.

It follows on from Walker destroying Leicester City defender Harry Maguire just a day earlier and posting it on social media for everyone to see. Like Alli, Maguire looked like his career had been ended there and then by his fellow Sheffield United youth product.

England kick off their inaugural UEFA Nations League campaign with a home fixture at Wembley against Spain tomorrow evening.
