LADs. It's time to step up your game. This group of mates have raised the bar forever.
Rather than just meeting up and going for a few pints for his birthday, Josh Galea-Hughes and eight of his closest friends decided to go all out for his 25th birthday. They spent two weeks planning their characters and costumes. Did they all just dress up as Smurfs? Or go out as army men? NO. That's played out and the kind of shit you do on a uni night when you can't be arsed putting in any proper effort.
These LADs went as nine different characters from Phoenix Nights.

One even went as the (ahem) 'Sammy Snake' bouncy castle. The effort that went into all of of these costumes is absolutely incredible.

Josh, 24, from Washington, Tyne and Wear, said: "The reactions we got were absolutely hilarious. We're all massive Peter Kay fans and we'd been planning this for a while."
Dan Grant as Max and Thomas Hannett as Paddy
He continued: "A lot of us were down in charity shops buying our outfits and we did our own make-up as well."

"We had girls and bouncers asking for pictures all night."
Dayle Temple as Ray Von
The lads met up in Washington for a barbecue on Saturday afternoon before venturing into Gateshead and then Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

"I couldn't believe the amount of attention we got. Obviously, with Car Share being really popular at the minute, people were loving anything to do with Peter Kay."
Jamie Jenner as Young Kenny
"We're big fans of Phoenix Nights, we've all got the DVDs and we're constantly quoting lines to each other so we thought it would be the perfect fancy dress. Everyone really put the effort in."
Adam Frater as Spencer (as Gary Glitter)

Isn't it great when everyone actually does give a toss and throws everything into fancy dress? I feel like university students' union nights may have ruined that a bit for everyone. But this night looks like it was the most fun anyone's ever had. Ever.
Adam Kelly as Sammy Snake
Josh, a die technician, said: "I thought because it hasn't been on TV in a few years nobody would know who we were, but everyone did. People were saying it was one of the best group efforts they'd ever seen.
"Stephen, who went as the keyboard player, Alan, even learnt the theme tune and played it in the taxi. We were all in stitches."
Stephen you legend.
Stephen Bambrough as Alan
"There were a couple of pubs during the day that still had children in and we were getting a few dodgy looks having a giant inflatable penis sat at the table.
"It was pretty messy in the end and generally a great laugh.
"I don't know how we'll ever top this night out."

LADs, you have set the bar incredibly high. I imagine a lot of people will be copying you now.
If you and your mates have done a better job that this (I doubt you have, but let's pretend), send us over your pictures to [email protected] for your chance to be featured.
