A cancer survivor has revealed the moment his wife got a 'condolences' email from his former employers who thought he had died.

Luke Marzano won a battle against oesophageal cancer in 2020 before going on to quit his job and pursue his dream of becoming a self-employed photographer.

His former employers, however, sent an email to his wife, Amanda, in March 2021 asking about his life insurance.

The 34-year-old from Sharon, Pennsylvania shared the hilarious messages with his over 100k followers via a series of three videos on TikTok.

In the first and most popular video, 'I'm dead' which earned 621.2k likes, Luke says: "Ok, you guys. As some of you know, I quit my job a couple of months ago.

"I just got an email today from the company."

Luke then goes on to read the email which said: "Hello, I'm sending this in the hopes that Amanda (his wife) will receive it.

"This is information I had to access life insurance your husband had with our company.

"Please, let me know if you need any assistance with this.

"My condolences,

"Rebecca."

Thankfully, Luke cleared up the misunderstanding by messaging Rebecca back.

Clearly embarrassed, Rebecca replies: "This is awesome news!! I am definitely embarrassed that I tried to track your wife down but so happy it was for nothing.

"Thanks for getting back to me and making my day!"

Luke's final email (pardon the pun) says: "Luckily, I have not passed away (Woo Hoo!) I am no longer employed with redacted. I'm wondering if that is where the confusion might be coming."

He carries on enthusiastically: "If there is anything else you need from me, please, let me know!"

And finishes with: "Still Alive, Luke"

In another video, Luke says about Rebecca: "At least she responded, right?"

"My wife asked: if they thought that you were dead this whole time, why didn't they send flowers? It was just that email that ended with condolences.

He continues: "Now, I gotta contact the government and make sure that I'm not dead."
