Meme-Inspired Knitted Hats: Hide the Pain Harold As You’ve Never Seen Him

We don't even know what 7.5 million mini knitted hats would look like, but that's how many innocent has got people to make since 2003, all for a great cause. So it's time to get knitting too and join the revo-wool-tion.

Every year, healthy smoothie maker innocent gets people to send them teeny tiny knitted hats, to stick on top of its iconic smoothie bottles and sell them in stores. It's called the Big Knit campaign and it's been going for 15 years. A portion of the money from each sale goes to Age UK and they've raised £2.5 million so far.

We've already had a bash at creating our own little wooly hats to send in. Watch us knit two classic memes in the video below - Distracted Boyfriend and Hide The Pain Harold as you've never seen them - and get all the info you need about the Big Knit campaign. Send it to your most meme obsessed mates to see if they can out-knit us.

innocent has set a target of 1.5 million mini knitted hats by July 2019, with the aim of getting them in store by the following October. For every hatted-bottle sold, innocent will give 25p to Age UK, which helps older people up and down the UK get the health and wellbeing support they need.

We've inspired you with our hot take on the knits - Hide the Pain Harold hat, anyone? But now it's your turn to make one - or get your knitting-obsessed housemate to do it. You'll find all the details about how to join in on the Big Knit website, including loads of free knitting patterns that will show you how to make a hat, whether you're a beginner or an expert. Our favourite designs (apart from our meme hats obvs) are the shark and the fez...
