'Fortnite' Players Want To Say 'Thank You' To Battle Bus Driver

If you know, you know. If not, that sentence can't have made a lot of sense to you

A bizarre petition has taken off amongst players of the popular video game, Fortnite. It turns out that whilst you may be able to criticise people who religiously play video games all of the time for a lot of things, you can't deny that they are polite.

One Fortnite enthusiast, who goes by the name Kody Keddie, has started a petition on Change.org to try to get the game's developers, Epic Games, to give players the ability to thank a virtual bus driver.

Right, for those of us who aren't familiar with what any of that means, let me try to explain.

So, Fortnite is basically a battle royale game - 100 players enter, only one leaves. Last man standing, winner takes all, you get the picture.

Anyway, when the 100 players are arriving at the battle they are dropped from a floating bus with a big balloon attached to it called the 'Battle Bus'.

It is the assumed driver of this bus that Kody and his fellow Fortnite players are trying to convey their thanks too.

It's so strange an idea that the game developers will probably actually do this to keep the punters happy. I mean, it wouldn't take them a great deal of effort, would it?

The petition reads: "Since I was just a boy I have always loved jumping out of the battle bus, but all this time I have felt something was missing.

"And that thing is the ability to thank the driver of the battle bus, he or she is truly a great person and they provide us a great service, I think it is time we can truly appreciate thair [sic] service, don't you agree?"

A noble idea, no doubt. There are probably more important things going on in the world just now, but manners cost nothing.

Evidently, a decent chunk of Kody's fellow gamers agree with him. So far more than 2,600 names have been added to the petition. Admittedly, that represents a relatively small chunk of the Fortnite world, but surely it's enough to get the feature added?

One signatory said: "I cannot sleep at night knowing that a bus driver is forced to drive that battle bus 24/7 without a single 'thank you'. We need this feature."

Another, who apparently isn't even a gamer, said: "I don't play Fortnite but if they added this feature rest assured my ass is going to Best Buy to buy a computer that can run that game."

The world is a very strange and confusing place at times.
