Hungry And Ambitious Eight-Year-Old Steals His Dad's Car To Drive To McDonald's

All with the help of YouTube.

In a remarkable display of self-education, bravado and above all, banter, an eight-year-old boy taught himself how to drive on the internet so that he could drive him and his four-year-old sister to McDonald's, police say.

The young lad joyrode his dad's car after teaching himself through YouTube videos.

He travelled to a branch a mile and a half from his home in East Palestine, Ohio County, while his parents were sleeping.

Mastering his way through the roads, the two siblings ended up at the drive-thru, ordering a cheeseburger with the money from his piggy bank, according to reports.

The McDonald's workers presumed the order was a prank and took it.

"This kid learned how to drive on YouTube," Patrolman Jacob Keohler told The Weirton Daily Times.

"I think there is a good teaching point here. With the way technology is kids will learn how to do anything and everything.

"He probably looked it up for five minutes and then said it was time to go."

He added: "He didn't hit a single thing on the way there. It was unreal.

"A friend of the family saw what was going on and called the grandparents."

The police had received several calls from snitches/members of the public who witnessed the LAD hauling ass through the streets of East Palestine.

Koehler went on to say it wasn't a case of neglect given that the two kids had already eaten breakfast, lunch and dinner that day. They just fancied a cheeseburger.

Oh, and some chicken nuggets and fries.

When it was all said and done, they got to eat their meal, even if they had to wait for their grandparents to arrive and escort them to the feds.

Their parents then picked them up from the police station.

No charges have been filed.

This isn't the first instance of young kids proving themselves to be really cool and a worthy financial investment. Just last November, an 11-year-old boy took for his parents car for a spin after playing Grand Theft Auto.

It led to a motorway chase in Ontario, Canada after the Ontario Provincial Police had been tipped off by motorists who had spotted the young tearaway driving erratically.

Police said the lad 'wanted to see what it was like to drive a car', not happy enough with the simulation of it that he'd been enjoying on GTA.
