Everyone's first sexual experience was most likely an awkward one.
Not sure what goes where, which does what, how shit works, and whether or not you should keep your socks on are among the problems we faced.
But, if we take a look at things properly, it's a lot different for girls. Think about it, penises are ugly. Like really ugly. Even as a bloke you can appreciate that there's no such thing as a good looking dick.
Some can be intimidating, too, with regards to length, girth and veininess.
With that in mind, girls have been taking to a Reddit thread to discuss what they thought the very first time they saw an erect penis.
Kicking things off, redhotjillypepper said that due to the unbelievable amount of phallus drawings we did throughout school, her first sighting of a penis was a shock.
She said: "I was confused because the typical penis boys draw is very misleading."
Haelx's perception of what the male genitalia was like was very, well, weird. "Before, I always thought that the balls were in two separate sacks," she said. "Very confusing indeed. Thankfully I didn't ask and just learned that it was the way it's supposed to be."
From the same account, but on a separate comment, Haelx alluded to the fact that penis envy is very real.
She said: "I still laugh on my own when [my boyfriend] is naked besides me. It's jiggly and it moves on its own.
"I know girls always say that boobs are the best and so fun to play with, but seriously, if I had a dick, I'd play with it all day.
niceshiba said: "I don't know why, but before I saw one I assumed a penis became erect still pointing down. I'd never seen any porn or anything and yeah, I figured sex would be a logistical nightmare.
"In my head, when I saw it pointing up, I was kind of like 'ohhhhhh, that totally makes sense now!'"
Reddit user Scandinavian_Girl went in a different direction with her comment, laying it all on the table: "How would that fit in my mouth?".
lancetheturkey, on the other hand, took a rather graphic and detailed approach to recounting her first experience. She said: "Well, the first time I saw one in real life, I couldn't stop staring at it.
"My thought process went a little something like 'OMG I'm at least somewhat sexually arousing. I like this penis. Wait... he shaved. He was expecting this. I wanna touch it. Yup, this thing is great. And so soft. I have no idea what to do. Why do I wanna put it in my mouth? I'm gonna put it in my mouth. Yup, this is fun. Dicks are awesome.'"
I guess that sums it up really. Penises are intimidating.
