Radio hosts in New Zealand were shocked when a caller-in told them a little bit more than they bargained for.
The folks over at The Morning Rumble were conducting a chat between two callers, one female and one male, during a bit on the show.
It began with the male answering the question: how do you impress a girl.
Not hesitating for a second, Johnny, the caller, replied: "Did you get those pants on sale? 'Cause they're 100% off at my place."
"Johnny!" one one of the female hosts said in shock.
"Coming in hot, Johnny," another added. "Jess, what do you make of that?"
Jess was the female caller. What did she make of the chat-up line?
"I quite like it," she said. "It's a bit cheesy but I'd quite like to go on a date with this man."
"Good," one of the hosts said. "This is the most positive thing we've had so far."
He continued: "Johnny, I've gotta ask you, you've got a bit of success here, you're going on the first date... where are you gonna take her?"
Johnny, again, not hesitant, replied: "Well, up the bum I suppose."
Watch as the studio lose their shit.
"Johnny! Johnny, no!" one of them cries out.
That's the last we hear of Johnny, who is presumably, perhaps justly, cut off from the segment.
It begs the question of what makes a good chat-up line? And furthermore, what chat-up lines cross the line?
There are these ones.
Are you from Holland? Cuz amster-dayyyuuumm.
Know what's on the menu? Me-n-u.
You smell like trash, can I take you out?
Girl, are you Wi-Fi? Cuz im feeling the connection.
Sure, yeah, cheesy as fuck. But we'd be kidding ourselves if we said the cheesy ones weren't the best.
