Do it yourself dye jobs always have the potential to go horribly wrong. Whether it be leaving the stuff in too long, getting it on your skin, or just the fact that neon streaks don't quite suit you as well as the model on the box.
But for one young man in Sweden, his attempt to dye his beard backfired more shockingly than he ever could have expected. Twenty-year-old restaurant owner, Simon Oguz, from Växjö, Sweden, had the idea last month. We won't say if it was a good or bad idea, you decide.
Initially, the treatment seemed as though it had been a success. But after a couple of days his face began to itch, and from there it began to bloat like he'd eaten a plate of bees.

Oguz said: "Throughout the entire day my face started to get bigger and bigger, so I went to look it up.
"The doctors said it was nothing serious, just that I got an allergic reaction to the dye, so they gave me some medicine and that was it."
But Oguz said his symptoms continued to get worse, despite the medicine.
He said: "When I shook my head my whole face was shaking and I could feel it, still it didn't hurt, it was just itchy as hell.

"Then, I started to feel itching on my chest, so I went to look in the mirror and I had gotten a small lump in the middle of my chest. I was really scared, my first thoughts was that I had gotten a tumour. But the doctor told me it was just a reaction to the dye and it was nothing to worry about. She gave me some stronger medicine."
Fortunately, the swelling began to fade over the coming days and Oguz is now able to joke about the scare.
He said: "I looked like a mix of a hamster and Quagmire from Family Guy."

Well, you said it, Simon.
His mate, Julia Leandersson, who helped him dye his beard, has since basically admitted that she pushed him into it and laughed in his face when it went so terribly wrong. You've got a friend in me, and all that.

She said: "It was his own idea to dye his beard, but I may have pushed him a little as he started to chicken out about it.
"When I first saw him all swollen, I actually started to laugh, he looked so funny and I had no idea what so ever that it might be dangerous and after a while I became a little bit worried.
"Although I'll admit that I felt a little bit guilty - I remember him saying that he was allergic to henna tattoos, and asked if this had any kind of similarities.
"I said 'no I think it's cool' even though it clearly said on the packaging that you always should try a little bit on your hand or arm before applying to the hair."

That sounds like BFF material right there.
