Eric Cantona is a legend.
He was one of the defining footballers of the 1990s, not just because he was really, really good, but also because he was pure box office.
In fact, he was such good box office that he got a film made about him in which he played himself as a sort of quasi-oracle for a Manchester postman.
It shouldn't be surprising to hear that, despite not having played the game for almost twenty years, King Eric is still among the most entertaining people in football.

He just opened an Instagram account in the last week and the results are as immediately hilarious as one might expect.
One of the first targets of his ire was Brazilian superstar Neymar, who debuted a new haircut for the 2018 World Cup during his country's opening match, a one all draw with Switzerland.
Cantona clearly wasn't a fan of Neymar's do - he posted an image of himself with a pile of spaghetti on his head, carrying a photo of the Brazil striker. "Neymar style. Spaghetti al dente!" he captioned the image.
Neymar's hair was something of an online revelation during the game itself. Comparisons were made to bowls of noodles and pasta, of course, but also to straw, a bird's nest and even Scottish singer Emile Sande and 'Careless Whisper' era George Michael.
Of course, Brazilian strikers with awful hair are nothing new to the World Cup. Ronaldo - the original, Brazilian Ronaldo - sported a ludicrous barnet during the 2002 tournament, a shaved wedge at the front of his bald head, a move that he recently revealed to have been a deliberate attempt to deflect attention from his injury problems leading up to the World Cup.

"I had an injury in my leg and everybody was talking about that," the legend explained back in March. "I decided to cut my hair and leave the small thing there. I come to training and everybody saw me with bad hair."
"Everybody was talking about the hair and forgot about the injury. I could stay more calm and relaxed and focused on my training."
"I'm not proud about the hair itself because it was pretty strange. But it was a good way to change the subject."

Maybe Neymar, who has also been injured of late, can pull the same excuse. Maybe.
