The shock, the relief!

Pash Canby thought it'd be a brilliant idea to drop a prank midway through a proposal. Luckily, for him, it all came off.

Proposing at any time is a nerve-wracking experience for any LAD. The moment, as well as the answer, must be right.

There are times when it goes wrong...

And the worst bit is that we don't know what happened if the ring was found!

Pash, a tattoo artist from Plymouth, Devon, got a fellow holidaymaker to film the moment when he got down on one knee during their two-week trip to Thailand.

As he got up to put the ring on the soon-to-be-Mrs Natalie Canby, he let the ring slip out of his fingers and into the lagoon.

It left Natalie Ripley with her heart in her mouth, and shaking. Her perfect moment ruined by her butter-fingered other half.

After pausing for dramatic effect, Pash reveals it's all a big joke (after using a cheap imitation) and produces the real £2,000 ring from his pocket to do the deed properly.

Pash and Natalie are congratulated with cheers and applause from their fellow holiday goers.

"I saw the ring going into the sea and I started shaking," said 28-year-old Natalie.

"Two guys jumped into the water and started looking for it. I didn't know what was going on.

"Pash is so clumsy, literally he's the most clumsy person I know, so I thought it was real."

A clumsy tattoo artist, great...

She later revealed that she wasn't cross with her new fiancé,and was just relieved. The awaiting audience just made it an even better prank.

Pash, 30, revealed that he had the plan before jetting off to the Far East.

"Me and my brother cooked it up together the day before we left. One idea just let to another," he said.

"We were on the beach and I told Natalie I needed to go to Starbucks to check my messages. But really I was off on the streets trying to find a fake engagement ring."

After a quick barter with the owner, he managed to get one for £4, but had bigger fears. Pash even panicked himself about mixing up the rings and dropping the wrong one.

However, happy days, the couple plan to marry in 2018.

Guys trying to impress their (hopefully) future wife means there's always a viral story never far away.

Shane proposed to Mary in the cinema, where they went on a first date, after constructing a 'mini-movie' for them to watch. Despite problems with the movie format, and Shane shitting a brick, the proposal again went smoothly.

Or, there are the cases of men trying to impress their mates, just to wind up their girlfriends.

Jay, or 'Jay The Bae' as he's known to Mrs Jay, managed to convince her that Paris and Barcelona were on the cards for Valentine's...

They were, but just not quite how she was thinking - Paris St Germain v Barcelona was all that was on his mind instead.
