Pastor Claims He 'Went To Heaven And Took A Selfie'

A joke gone very wrong...

Back in 2014, you may remember Reggie Yates presenting a show called The Millionaire Preacher: Reggie Yeates' Extreme South Africa.

The subject of that show was Paseka Motsoeneng, otherwise known as Prophet PFP Mostoeneng or Prophet Mboro. He's a South African televangelist of Incredible Happenings Ministries.

There will never be a more incredible happening than what he claimed happened to him on Easter Sunday.

According to newsdaily, during an Easter service in his hometown of Johannesburg, Mboro said he 'ascended into heaven' with people more than 60km away testifying the sky did look different that morning.

Mboro's spokesman Mr. Nkuna told a local newspaper that the Pastor had indeed been taken to heaven but he was back and had managed to take some selfies with his Samsung Galaxy S5.

"The prophet did go to heaven during the service, and he came back later that day. While there, he took pictures using his Samsung Galaxy S5 so he can show them to the people on Earth if they do not believe he was captured in heaven."

Batshit, right? Wrong. To keep the charade going, the Pastor said he'd post his heaven selfies on his Facebook page.

This was going to make history, right? Wrong. The internet saw right through the claims and, according to reports, he got such a backlash on social media that he scrapped the whole thing and said it was just an April Fools' joke that got out of hand.

Judging by the picture (below) he was going to post, thank God he didn't go through with it.

That, ladies and gentlemen, is how not to do April Fools' when you've got a loyal and faithful following.
