One Reddit user even took it one step further:

While facing congress, Zuckerberg answered questions from senators on a number of topics, including privacy, 'data-mining', the company's regulations and even how it makes money.

But the thing that most people watching were thinking about was the genuine potential that Zuckerberg is, in fact, a robot.

Some people didn't even take it as far as to link his mechanical expression to that of Data's.

What's more, the fact he was using a 'booster seat' wasn't missed, either.

Following the data scandal, Facebook announced that it would be taking 'additional steps' to put users more in control of their privacy.

Going into more detail about the road ahead, Egan and Beringer also said that Facebook would address its responsibility to tell its users how it collects and uses its data in language that's 'detailed, but also east to understand'.

"in the coming weeks, we'll be proposing updates to Facebook's terms of service that include our commitments to people," they said.

"We'll also update our data policy to better spell out what data we collect and how we use it."
