It's DEFINITELY Nessie. Or maybe it's not.

Right, we've all heard the rumours about the Loch Ness Monster. There's supposedly some large sort of creature, possibly some sort of serpent, that is alleged to dwell beneath the waters of Scotland's second largest loch.

Well, every now and again we get some poorly shot footage taken by someone who claims to have had an up close encounter - although it is usually not that close - with the mythical beast, known affectionately as Nessie.

This occasion is no different. Someone standing by the side of the loch has spotted something in the water - it's DEFINITELY the Loch Ness Monster. There's not even a chance that it's not.

OK, so it's more likely that it isn't Nessie, and it's actually probably the waves from a boat or something similar but indulge the conspiracy theorist in yourself and suspend disbelief for just a minute.

The footage was posted to YouTube and even comes with its own cryptic, unattributed quote. Video News Agency ViralHog posted it with the quote that says: "Went to the beach Loch Ness for a day out as the weather was lovely so I thought I'd make the most of it.

"I lay back sunbathing with a friend on the beach, having lots of laughs. Then as the day went on, we looked at the water and saw something unusual. It looked about 20-feet long and kept going up and down, so I turned my camera video.

"We couldn't believe what we were seeing! It came right round as you can see in the video and then passed to the right of us in the water where I could no longer see it. It was actually amazing whatever it was, it was big!

"This was in June, so the beach was quiet at the time and no boats were out. I just really couldn't believe my eyes."

Hmm, OK. Well, have a look at the footage for yourself - it might have been better if the camera had been turned to the side rather than filming some pretty skinny footage of not much happening.

Perhaps we're still clutching at straws there and there just isn't that much to see in the first place.

Sightings like this happen all the time, though, so maybe there is something in it.

Just a couple of months ago, an 8-year-old girl captured some footage (better than the other video, no doubt) that purported to show Nessie in her natural habitat too.

Her Granny Marie, who was with her, said at the time: "We sat on the rocks for a few minutes.

"We were just taking silly pictures of each other and splashing our feet in the water. I just looked up and that's when I spotted the flickering in the water.

"It looked as though the light was bouncing off something but there were no boats or people and it was something long - very long."

She continued: "I had to do a double take because there was just nothing to explain it.

"I took a few pictures and then my granddaughter asked if she could take a picture. I didn't realise at the time but that's when she shot the video.

"It was weird. Really strange. I can't explain it so the only thing I can think is we have seen the Loch Ness Monster."

Personally, I'll believe it when it wrecks a boat or something.
