Woman Sparks Debate About Which Way Toilet Roll Should Be Hung

Woman Sparks Debate About Which Way Toilet Roll Should Be Hung

Surely we've got bigger fish than this to fry?

The world of online dating can feel like a pretty harrowing meat market at the best of times.

People are judging you left, right, and centre based upon your appearance, a short couple of words you've written about yourself, and the way around that you hang your bog roll.

Wait, what? Does that sort of thing actually matter to some people?

Yes, of course it does. Not everyone is that attracted to good looks, not everyone cares about the content of someone's personality, but we can all agree on one thing. Toilet roll should be hung with the end facing outwards.

The correct way...?

Anyone who suggests otherwise should be taken away to a safe space somewhere and confined for all time.

Or so you'd think, if your only engagement with the 'real' world was trawling through the shadier corners of the Internet.

Tinder is one such place. And Hana Michels didn't realise what she was walking into when she advertised her toilet roll etiquette on her profile.

After sharing her profile picture, she revealed that she has had no less than 23 (TWENTY-THREE) separate men get in touch with her to tell her she should be ashamed of herself for the way she hangs her loo roll.

What is the world coming to?

She posted a tweet expressing her bemusement at this strange anomaly:

She then pointed out another interesting co-incidence regarding the toilet roll debate:

Since then she has accidentally turned her own Twitter profile into an open forum for debate about this most pressing issue of our time.

There appear to be two schools of thought on the issue. There are those who think that toilet roll MUST be hung with the end outside, and there are those who genuinely seem like they couldn't care less.

"I'm a woman. Your toilet paper is wrong. Have a nice day anyway," replied one person, while another countered with: "I'm toilet paper neutral. I just want to know the design on the towel."

There isn't a whole heap of evidence to support either way around being of any benefit.

There are a couple of spurious mentions of hygiene, but how hygienic is something that you're about to wipe your backside with going to be, anyway? So many questions.

Anyway, this is a debate that is promises to rage on and on into eternity. Let's only hope that one day since can provide the answer.

Until then, whoever changes the roll has the casting vote on which way around it goes.
