Lionel Messi and his family are now officially in Paris ahead of him making his debut as Paris Saint Germain's new forward. Having left behind a £6 million mansion in Spain, fans are keen to know what his new pad is like.

It was an emotional goodbye to FC Barcelona, a club Messi's played at since he was a school boy. The difficult decision to hang up his iconic no.10 shirt was made after they couldn't reach a contract agreement amid the club's financial difficulties.

As the world's best footballer, you can imagine he has the salary to match and there aren't many clubs out there that can afford him.

But Barcelona wasn't just the city where his football career was launched, it was also the birthplace of his three children and the city he and his wife called home for two decades.

Where is Lionel Messi's Barcelona mansion?

Messi's swanky, custom designed Barcelona pad is located in Bellamar, which is just 12 miles from Camp Nou and 24 miles from the airport.

Messi was in good company in the prosperous suburb of Castelldefels, with Luis Suarez and Philippe Coutinho as neighbours.

The £6 million home comes with jaw-dropping sea views, a gym, swimming pool, football pitch, playground for his children and a no-fly zone.

But the 34-year-old might not be so lucky with a no-fly zone in France. Apparently, the reason he was able to get a no-fly zone was due to environmental reasons, meaning aircraft can't fly over Castelldefels.

Where is Lionel Messi's house in Paris?

Having left behind years worth of memories with his Barcelona mansion, it's reported that Messi and his family will live in his six-bedroom apartment in the prestigious 16th arrondissement, the "South Kensington of Paris", which he purchased in 2016.

The swanky neighbourhood is "home to foreign embassies and renowned museums, including the Fondation Louis Vuitton and the Palais de Tokyo with its contemporary art," according to Google Maps.

Passy, which is just across the river from the Eiffel Tower, is "home to the city's wealthiest residents [and] features trendy restaurants and the Maison de Balzac, a house museum where the novelist once lived."

Other than that, not much else is known about the football star's new life in Paris beyond the football pitch. We'll have to wait and see some snaps from Mrs Messi of the family in their fancy new Paris home.
