This Cat Holding His Owner's Hand Before Final Vets Visit Brings The Onions Out

Possibly sadder than Harambe.

Yeah, I love cats and might have shed a tear or two reading this. So what?

However, the idea of a cat putting his paw on his owner's hand as he's taken to the vet to be put to sleep because he knows what's about to happen and that he's alright with it is utter bollocks.

Thus, my heart and my head are fighting with each other on this one.

This image is going viral, showing the cat's final moments before his last ever visit to the vets.

In the caption on Reddit, it reads: "He held our hands on his last trip to the vet. Little Andrew was much stronger than his mom and I." Nah, not having that, the cat just thought he was going on a cool car ride or was getting smashed or something.

It was uploaded to Reddit two weeks ago. His owner, from Colorado, also had this to say:

"Little Andrew was my junior. He was 15 and a half and loved everyone, but just got old and sick over the last year. He purred every day of his life and when he lost that, I knew it was time. Always sad to lose a friend. Sorry for everybody else's losses as well."

Now that is quite sad.

The Reddit user and man in mourning received loads of well-wishes.

NukeBOMB8888888 had this to say: I'm sorry for your loss dude. I'm still reeling from having to shoot my poor beloved cat on the spot when my mum ran her over the other day. I feel your pain," (America, perhaps?).

Perhaps most poignantly, Skogul1 related with Little Andrew's owner.

"I put my one and only cat down a little over a week ago. Still can't think about it with tearing up, and her food dish is still in my kitchen :(

"When she stopped purring it was a big sign, but she was also sitting on the floor funny and wouldn't come to me. She looked like she was in a lot of pain.

"When I got her to the vet that day (they kept working me in all week), they said the fluid from the cancer had moved to her lungs. She was sitting that way because she couldn't breathe."

European Lady, however, wants to know if this was murder by euthanasia, it appears: "Was he diagnosed with an illness?" To the point.

I'm now going to take this opportunity to honour my cat who is also up there with Cecil, Harambe and all the other animal legends after he went into kidney failure and had to be put to sleep.

RIP Little Andrew. A sensible death.
